That is it, isn't it? I didn't even take notice of the hair in that pic to be honest. I was drawn immediately to his eyes and the spirit I felt iin them. I dunno... but every so often someone takes a photograph of him and it feels as if a piece of him was truly captured within it, and that is how that pic affects me
*sigh*

well even though Hair isnt important as such. I still think he looks better with dark hair. Like I look better with darker hair.
For me personally each of his hairstyles and hair colours has represented a very distinct Darren Hayes personality. So when I say I love "spider hair" its not about loving JUST that kind of hair style its about the personality the package that was Darren Hayes in the spider phase.
I agree Barb this is PR at its best. THey are letting fans know where Darren is. He is out and about at movie premiers in the UK. Its all about Marketing and gettin his picture taken for promotional purposes. THis is a good thing really as he needs to do this kind of thing. I think as long as people recognise it is the marketing machine at work its all good. Hes not doing it to be nice to his fans so they can see him at premiers or anything LOL

That's it Kat, it's so simple, it's clever and of course it's working! I also believe it's working because of the kind of person he is. Oh and he is *nice* to his fans judging by the fans accounts of seeing him at these things.
Just in case anyone is wondering I do believe this marketing lol, is good!

So the man has a *new* image (hmmm or he's reverted back to the old one because even now that's still more recognizable than blonde Darren)
New habits...eg.swanning round London with a different lady on his arm for each event, lol!
so I'm pondering...Is there a new person in the drivers seat steering his career atm, maybe Darren himself?
I've just been watching S&C and yeppers that dark haired one seems to be back
OK just thinking out loud and it's given me a headache!

Lol Steen!
You know I've been following what's been happening in the last week from what is probably the most neutral I've been about Darren for sometime. I can't help the feeling I'm being swept up in some kind of elaborate marketing campaign.
Then as we all know I'm a little crazy so I've probably imagined the whole thing

Well, as far as the hair colour goes, I don't personally care if it is long, short, blonde, black brown, green.
Now as far as PR goes... yup, I do believe you are on to something Barb, there is someone new there... or someone advising existing people.
I have to say, I like it

We don't really know if it's working or not, to be perfectly fair. While I generally think telling fans about appearances is a good thing (and how many times did we BEG for info in the past only to get nothing?), I hope they're being careful not to overdo things. From what I heard, the first premier wasn't really an event that had "fans" for other celebs. So arranging to have his fans there (which, let's face it, is exactly what the fan club did by telling us the address AND TIME to be there) is risky because it MIGHT backfire by making him look desperate to the press. The press are cynical, and they know how he got fans there.
But yeah........ we're seeing the PR team in action this week. *smiles* My guess is that they wanted to show the press that he's popular, so that they (the press) start talking about him again.
Btw, I also like the idea of the trivia emails. I just wish that they'd get over the idea of ONLY sending things to fan club members. It'd be extremely simple and cheap to set up a general mailing list much like Sony has with the newsletters that never gets used. If he'd set up a free, anyone can register and get these emails, type thing to reach ALL fans ........ *sighs* He could still have it run via the fan club site, so it wouldn't be at Sony's mercy. And he'd have a huge database of his fans, both members and non, so draw on when he really wants to gear things up. I honestly don't see WHY they're married to the idea of paying members only when there are SO many more fans to reach. *more sighs*
Did I mention how CHEAP and easy it'd be for him to do, btw??? Okay, I'll get off the soapbox now.
